Hole reaming

Post by jbobc » 30 May 2017, 18:31

I bought a 1/2" reamer in anticipation of reaming the suspension rod end holes. I am also planning on following Kurts idea for using SS washers for both wear and increased bearing area. In my experience on other projects, drilling SS is hard on drill bits. What should I expect to see as far as using my reamer on the SS augmented rod end holes? Presuming I pre drill the holes to 15/32" prior to reaming.

My average cost 1/2" reamer still works great so I think you'll be fine.
